… if you don’t count the bases, at least.

I’m not dead – ANUCON trophies!
Some assembly may be required.
So I’m not dead yet – sorry I haven’t posted anything since… wow, January. I’ve since joined the full-time workforce and have suddenly found myself without much time or inclination to do painting or modelling.
Here’s what I’ve actually painted in the last six months, ranging from the historial:
To the sci-fi:
I keep wanting to buy new stuff, but since I’ve only finished twelve models since the last batch of stuff I bought I figured I’d better not.
And then this came out:
And I couldn’t resist.
At least it’s a preorder and won’t be actually released for another month or two – so I have some time to finish another two to four models, at this rate.
Whoops.
Finally finished some more napoleonics!
On the workbench: marines, valhallans, infinity, bombshell babes
A quick update for today, showing what I’ve built recently and what projects are still ongoing.
On the Workbench: Napoleonics and More Napoleonics (and some random stuff too)
Here’s what I’m working on right now: trying to madly finish the last couple of miniatures for my Infinity Nomads. Above are two zonds (Nomad Remotes) – the front one has its black and red areas finished, whereas I’ve just done base-and-shade on the back one.
Why am I trying to finish the Nomads rather than continuing on with more Napoleonics?

Corregidor Jurisdictional Command Starter Pack (from http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/2013/miniatures/jurisdictional-command-of-corregidor/ )
Yeah, these guys are coming out. I had a “shut up and take my money” moment as soon as I saw them (dammit!).
Stuff that’s in the pipeline:
Much Belated Post: Progress!
So, I haven’t posted in over a month now – sorry about that, I’ve been doing some hobby stuff but a) I’ve been going through a series of rewrites and revisions for my PhD thesis and b) I haven’t been able to find any time while the weather’s been sunny enough to take decent photos (I use natural light, since I don’t have a propper lighting rig and my camera flash is atrocious).
Anyway, here’s the stuff I’ve completed over the past month:
- Admech Cultists (some autoguns and a heavy stubber)
- AdMech Cultists (flamers and leaders)
- BFG Vengeance Grande Cruiser
- Finished British Infantry
- British Grenadiers (just waiting for a base drybrush and touch-ups)
- British Line Company… 8 of 256
- She doesn’t want to be photographed… (sorry about the blur!)
I’ll post some workbench shots during this week so you can see what I’ve still got cooking (mostly, a whole bunch of Napoleonics). I’ll also get around to posting the last couple of galleries from the Istvann III Campaign as well…
Perry Miniatures: BH18 British 95th Rifles command and BH30 British Light Infantry command advancing
A few more napoleonics made their way to me last week, with my order from Perry Miniatures arriving. I ordered two metal sets: BH18 British 95th Rifle command, for my rifle company, and BG30 British Light Infantry command advancing, to command the light company of my planned battalion.
I do belive that this will be the first *ever* picture taken of the BH30 British Light Infantry command advancing set from Perry Miniatures – I searched and searched prior to buying them to see if I could find one, but couldn’t. If I’m wrong, feel free to let me know!
So, here we go:
28mm Plastic Napoleonic British: Perry vs Victrix
Here’s my review and comparison of the 28mm plastic napoleonic British infantry, produced by Perry (the grey on the left) and Victrix (the yellowish on the right). There’s already a couple of comparisons around (such as here, here, and here) but I figured I’d post up my experience with a box of each anyway.
Luke starts Napoleonics: Perry British Infantry
So, after watching Sharpe over the Christmas break, I kind of got a bit hooked on the Napoleonics era stuff. Since I’m not starting any new GW stuff (mainly due to the prices), and I’m not buying any new Infinity stuff since I’ve got more than enough for games now, I needed a new project.
Hence, Napoleonics. I’m unlikely to ever actually play a game with them (unless someone else also gets roped in), but I really like the look so I’m doing up some British infantry as a painting project. Of course, I still have to finish my CSM Adeptus Mechanicus and Infinity, but you can never have too many miniatures!
I started off with the above box of Perry British Infantry, and as I’m a Sharpe fan I’ll be doing the South Essex with attached riflemen from the 95th as they appear in the series.
